Why is it assumed that rain is ‘miserable’? The weather report says ‘It will be miserable tomorrow with rain and wind coming in from the west’…..miserable? I love it……!!
I live in London but I grew up in the countryside. Rain cleanses the dryness and the griminess of London, it freshens everything up. So ya get wet….well if you don’t wear a rain coat or if you have to go out in it for some reason. But sitting in bed, listening to the pitter patter of the rain on the windows, cosy inside..in bed! Wow what a feeling.
And going out in it…….when I was younger I used to love the heavy pouring rain. I’d put on a rain proof running tracksuit …I think it was my brother’s……….and get the dog lead and run up and down the village with my dog, Simba, a gorgeous, happy Golden Retriever. And yes when we got in I’d spend the next 5 minutes drying him off so he could go indoors and not have to wait outside.
Lovely rain…………..why do the weather reporters assume they can speak for me and say it is ‘miserable’. I’d much rather they stuck to their job and just reported it, not tell me how I should feel about it.
When people assume they know how others will feel about something it alienates those who disagree, or who haven’t been consulted about their view. Why do those who report….or more accurately, try to predict the weather, think they can presume that rain is something that will lead to us feeling ‘miserable’?
I love the rain, it splashes on me, God made the rain and God made me……That was a song we used to sing as kids.
Lovely rain……………..now back to listening to that pitter patter.
Have a good week.
Now your talking…….the WEATHER is indeed lovely – I love it when kids get the chance to run, dance play in the rain.
All mine did and when I got over the fear they would catch a terrible cold, I loved the freedom they had, wished I was also a kid!
I love it when it rains ~ people stop n huddle in small spaces, even under trees and talk! Stopping!
Parsnips grow and I can walk and breath.
Kids are making some fab Weather art as it’s our topic in Art Club……..
So must be cloudy with a chance of meatballs afterall…………where is my raincoat?
